Broker/Owner

I was born and raised in Plainville, Massachusettes. This is where I learned the benefits of a rural community. I graduated from the University of Conneticut with a major in psychology. This is where I developed my interest in people. After college I married and moved off to Cape Cod. It was during my stay in the beach areas of Cape Cod that my love for the ocean was born. A few years later my first of four children were born. I have always had an adventuresome spirit. I began my search for affordable property near the ocean.

With the second child on the way, it was important that it would be a good place to raise a family. In 1974, with the help of a friend, we came to the North Shore of Nova Scotia and settled in the mystical and magical small fishing village of Pugwash. It's a town of 770 people. A fishing village to some and a wishing village to others. I often refer to this area as the place that dreams come true. So watch out what you wish for, I say.

Pugwash is located 30 miles east of the New Brunswick border and 60 miles west of Caribou Island. I refer to this area as the Mystical Hidden Jewel. I made this my home because of the beauty of this affordable coastal area. I have stayed all these years mostly because of the people and the life style. I became a self taught goldsmith. I created what is now the Hidden Jewel Gift Shop and was formerly know as the Canadian Sterling Jewelry & Gifts. For 25 years I happily made jewellery and travelled around Nova Scotia, Canada and the United States selling to stores and at craft shows and trade shows. Although there are so many beautiful towns and places in Nova Scotia that I enjoy to visit, the North Shore has captured my spirit. I sold my jewellery business and store to my staff.

In 1996, I incorporated Mystic Coast Realty For more than 30 years, my time offs were almost always spent exploring the warm salt water beaches or the miles of tidal rivers that flow inland feeding a myriad of birds, mammals and vegetation. Now I get to revisit these special places with buyers and sellers of real estate. These natural water ways are home to the bald eagle, osprey, great blue heron, Canada geese, ducks of all kinds, cormorants, gulls and many more delightful birds. We get visits from whales, seals, leather back turtles, salmon, gaspereux, striped bass, mackerel, herring, smelts, flounder, lobster, sea trout, sea bass, and occasionally a mermaid I'm told. These warm waters create a playground that is better than anything or anywhere I have lived or travelled. The small towns along the North Shore have deep sheltered harbours that are ideal for sail and powerboats, canoe or kayak. You will find marinas at which to dock. In Pugwash there is also a fisherman's wharf and a government wharf which is used by freighters to haul salt and lumber. From the Pugwash Yacht Club or the Brickyard Marina you can access the open ocean, the protected harbour or explore one of three inland tidal rivers. All the water ways are friendly and usually calm. At low tide, long stretches of red sand expose the beachcombers paradise of the North. This coastal area provides quality space to enjoy the quiet natural beauty that only occurs when the land meets the sea undisturbed. What a place to be in real estate.
